Samantha Peterson is from the little town of Nephi, Utah. She loves black and white, macro, and shallow depth of field in photography as well as birds, trees and old structures. Peterson is constantly working on new pieces and exploring mediums she has never used before.

Kevin Rabas co-directs the creative writing program at Emporia State and co-edits Flint Hills Review. He has six books: Bird’s Horn, Lisa’s Flying Electric Piano (a Kansas Notable Book and Nelson Poetry Book Award winner), Sonny Kenner’s Red Guitar (also a Nelson Poetry Book Award winner), Green Bike, Eliot’s Violin, and Spider Face: Stories.
Evening Pick Up, Volume 2, Issue 1
We are accepting art, photography, comics, poetry, creative nonfiction, comics, and fiction for our fifth issue. This time we are going to have a themed section, and we will accept other pieces that do not fit with the theme.
The theme: Depression. Show us the diagnosis, dealing with depression, overcoming depression, anything to do with depression. Give us artwork, stories with depressed characters, poems with depressed speakers, comics, and so on. Interpret it yourself and show us what you created.
